Soundtrack

The soundtrack to the 1996 Cinergi/Hollywood Motion Picture Evita was released in two different formats. A 2-disc double album entitled Evita - The Motion Picture Music Soundtrack featured all the tracks from the film. A second release Evita - Music From The Motion Picture contained a selection of highlights from the soundtrack on a 1-disc format with different cover artwork. This was the third soundtrack release by Madonna and featured also the vocal talents of Antonio Banderas , Jonathan Pryce and Jimmy Nail .

The soundtrack was an international Top 10 success, reaching No. 2 in the US and No. 1 in the UK. The double album spun off three hit singles: the Academy Award-winning " You Must Love Me " (No. 18 in the US and No. 10 in the UK), " Don't Cry for Me Argentina " (No. 8 in the US, No. 3 in the UK, and No. 1 in France) and " Another Suitcase in Another Hall " (No. 7 in the UK). "You Must Love Me", the tune specially composed for the film of Evita , won both the Oscar and the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Madonna, herself, took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress In A Comedy Or Musical, and the film won the award for Best Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical.
